At this year’s KANZ conference, my keynote principle was a timely reminder for all our practitioners, students, and Kinesiology journey seekers that your energy needs a safe container to be able to hold its direction, the principle is 'before the energy opens, there must be containment'. Any thriving therapy practice isn’t just technical skill, it is also a cultivation of safety and wholeness within our own energetic containers, when a kinesiologist feels safe to exist, transformation is unbound. Just as water requires riverbanks to channel its flow, our energy must be held within a strong, nurturing container—otherwise, it scatters and loses direction. Imposter syndrome often arises when this container feels fragile or uncertain.
Addressing Imposter Syndrome in Kinesiology
Imposter syndrome—persistent self-doubt and the feeling of being a “fraud”—is a frequent visitor for kinesiologists at all stages. Whether practicing, teaching, or supporting others, these doubts can keep gifts unshared and many voices of wisdom quiet. Acknowledging and normalising this challenge is the first step toward dissolving isolation and uncertainty.
